Die IT-Infrastruktur des Unternehmensbereichs Automotive der Rheinmetall Group in den Werken in Brasilien, Mexiko und in den USA ist seit dem späten Abend des
24. September 2019 von einer Schadsoftware-Attacke betroffen. Dadurch sind die regulären betrieblichen Prozesse an diesen Standorten derzeit erheblich gestört.


Die übrigen IT-Systeme des Konzerns sind nach gegenwärtigen Erkenntnissen nicht betroffen.

Das Unternehmen setzt alles daran, die Störung in den betroffenen Werken schnellstmöglich zu beheben und die Lieferfähigkeit gegenüber den Kunden so weit wie möglich aufrecht zu erhalten. Während die Lieferfähigkeit kurzfristig sichergestellt ist, lassen sich über die Dauer der Störung keine Aussagen treffen. Diese kann in den wahrscheinlichsten Szenarien zwischen  zwei und vier Wochen liegen.

Aus heutiger Sicht schätzt das Unternehmen ab der zweiten Woche aus dem Schadensereignis einen belastenden Ergebniseffekt von drei bis vier Mio EUR pro Woche.
