Die Rheinmetall AG reduziert für den Unternehmensbereich Defence die im
März 2013 veröffentlichte Umsatz- und Ergebnisprognose für das Gesamtjahr,
bestätigt jedoch den Ausblick für den Unternehmensbereich Automotive.

Trotz eines im zweiten Quartal 2013 gegenüber dem ersten Quartal deutlich
verbesserten operativen Ergebnisses rechnet Rheinmetall nicht mehr damit,
das ursprünglich für den Defence-Bereich erwartete operative Ergebnis vor
Zinsen und Steuern (EBIT vor Restrukturierungsmaßnahmen) von 130 MioEUR zu
erreichen. Die Prognose für das operative EBIT der Verteidigungssparte wird
auf 60 MioEUR bis 70 MioEUR reduziert. Ausschlaggebend ist die um rund 100
MioEUR von 2,4 MrdEUR auf 2,3 MrdEUR reduzierte Jahresumsatzprognose für
den Unternehmensbereich Defence. Wesentliche Ursache dafür sind
Budgetkürzungen in wichtigen Kundenländern, die insbesondere das
Munitionsgeschäft betreffen, in dem der kurzfristige Bedarf hinter den
Erwartungen zurückbleibt. Daneben rechnet Rheinmetall mit zusätzlichen
Akquisitionskosten für volumenstarke Programme sowie mit erhöhten
Abwicklungskosten bei einzelnen Aufträgen.

Insgesamt entwickelt sich der Auftragseingang des Unternehmensbereiches
Defence weiterhin erfreulich: Im ersten Halbjahr 2013 wurden neue Aufträge
im Volumen von 1.282 MioEUR akquiriert, das sind 144 MioEUR oder 13% mehr
als im Vorjahreszeitraum. Der Auftragsbestand liegt zum Halbjahr 2013 mit
5.383 MrdEUR um 17% über dem Vorjahreswert und damit auf Rekordniveau.
Hierbei ist der kürzlich erteilte Auftrag über 1,1 MrdEUR für militärische
LkW aus Australien noch nicht enthalten. Dieser geht in die Zahlen des
dritten Quartals ein.

Für den Unternehmensbereich Automotive geht Rheinmetall - nach einer guten
Geschäftsentwicklung im zweiten Quartal 2013 - unverändert von der
Erreichung der ursprünglichen Ziele aus. Bei einem erwarteten Umsatz im
Gesamtjahr 2013 von 2,4 MrdEUR bis 2,5 MrdEUR soll ein operatives Ergebnis
vor Zinsen und Steuern (EBIT vor Restrukturierungsmaßnahmen) von rund 140
MioEUR erreicht werden.

Für den Konzern erwartet Rheinmetall bei einem Jahresumsatz zwischen 4,7
MrdEUR und 4,8 MrdEUR nunmehr ein operatives Ergebnis vor Zinsen und
Steuern (EBIT vor Restrukturierungsmaßnahmen) zwischen 180 MioEUR und 200
MioEUR. Die ursprüngliche Prognose lag bei 240 MioEUR bis 260 MioEUR.

Die Restrukturierungsaufwendungen für beide Unternehmensbereiche werden
sich im Geschäftsjahr 2013 auf voraussichtlich 75 MioEUR bis 85 MioEUR
belaufen. Davon entfallen 35 MioEUR auf den Bereich Automotive und 40
MioEUR bis 50 MioEUR auf den Bereich Defence.

Die endgültigen Zahlen zum ersten Halbjahr 2013 wird Rheinmetall am 9.
August 2013 veröffentlichen.
