                           ("Volex" or the "Company")


The Company was informed on 21 July 2006 that, pursuant to the purchase of
200,000 ordinary shares of 25p each in the Company ("Ordinary Shares"), Cycladic
Capital LLP ("Cycladic") is now interested in 12,587,610 Ordinary Shares,
representing approximately 22.7 per cent. of the Company's issued share capital.
Of these Ordinary Shares 100,000 were purchased at a price of 105.5p per share
on 17 July 2006 and a further 100,000 were purchased at a price of 100p per
share on 19 July 2006. Through his position as Partner in Cycladic, Dimitri
Goulandris, a director of the Company holds an interest in these 12,587,610
Ordinary Shares.
