Ian will commence full-time duties with effect from 1 October 2005. The Board would like to thank Roger Withers, who has been acting in an interim capacity as Managing Director since November 2004, for his considerable contribution to Sportech over the past year. Roger will revert to being a non-executive director of Sportech. Ian, 40, joins Sportech from Arena Leisure Plc ("Arena") where he led the company since May 2001, initially as Group Managing Director and then as Chief Executive. Ian, a chartered accountant, has extensive commercial experience of the leisure and media industry having worked for Arena since 1998. During this time, Arena has built a strong and profitable racecourse business whilst also establishing a successful media rights and distribution business through At The Races, its joint venture with BSkyB, and leading UK racecourses. Arena is now the UK's number one racecourse operator, hosting 27% of all racing in the UK.
