                   Notification of Major Interests in Shares



Volex Group p.l.c. has today received notification pursuant to section 198
Companies Act 1985 confirming the following:

BriTel Fund Trustees Limited the Trustees of BT Pension Scheme, has LOANED
130,000 ordinary 25p shares (0.44%) of the Company's issued share capital, which
has resulted in a reduction in their material interest in the shares of the
Company. As at 26 January 2005, their direct holding following this transaction
was 784,340 ordinary 25p shares (2.656%). These shares are registered in the
name of BriTel Fund Nominees Limited.
