Production orders from Selex and Thales

Sarantel Group PLC (AIM: SLG, 'Sarantel' or 'the Group'), a leading manufacturer of high-performance, miniature filtering antennas for mobile and wireless devices, has received production orders for its 2nd generation rugged GeoHelix GPS antenna for use in military equipment from Selex Communications, a Finmeccanica company, and Thales UK Ltd.

Selex will use Sarantel's 2nd generation rugged GeoHelix GPS antenna in its Selex Communications Soldier System Radio Plus Radio (SSR Plus). This order follows the successful conclusion of the development deal announced in November 2010. Thales will incorporate Sarantel's 2nd generation active antenna into a body-worn soldier navigation device.

Sarantel's rugged antenna series are specifically designed to exploit the benefits of the Sarantel GeoHelix technology and meet the demanding requirements of military and industrial applications. The antennas are packaged in rugged, all-weather housings and use industry-standard connectors systems in order to add value to the customer applications.

David Wither, CEO of Sarantel, said:

"We are delighted to announce the next phase of our relationship with Selex Communications and this latest contract with Thales UK. These two deals will have a material impact on our revenues and further expand our penetration of the military sector outside our traditional market in the USA, demonstrating our potential to drive further growth in high value products."
