mobile solutions AG chooses Sarantel antenna for GPS phone

Sarantel Group PLC, (AIM: SLG, "Sarantel"), a leading manufacturer of high-performance, miniature filtering antennas for mobile and wireless devices, announces production orders from mobile solutions AG ("mobile solutions"), based in Switzerland, for its creon m300 personal safety mobile phone.

The creon m300 is a tri-band GSM phone that includes full GPS functionality and a number of personal safety features including an emergency key that provides precise GPS coordinates to a pre-determined list of contacts as part of an emergency message.

Beat Brändle, CEO of mobile solutions AG, said:

"Sarantel's LBS Pro antenna exceeded our performance expectations in this demanding application for customers who will not compromise on safety and reliability. We have designed the creon m300 to work in as many difficult environments as possible, including a user's pocket, and Sarantel's LBS Pro antenna offered mobile solutions the best option, given its high performance close to the body."

David Wither, CEO of Sarantel said:

"We are delighted to announce this design win with mobile solutions, where our LBS Pro antenna has enabled reliable, robust and accurate GPS performance in this safety critical application. It is easy to overlook the negative impact the human body has on GPS antenna performance but safety critical applications like the creon m300 simply can't ignore this problem, which is why mobile solutions chose Sarantel's technology."
