Horse Hill Judicial Review
UK Oil & Gas PLC (London AIM: UKOG) announces that a hearing regarding an application for judicial review ("JR") of Surrey County Council's ("SCC") September 2019 consent for long-term production at the Company's 85.635% owned Horse Hill oil field, will take place on 17-18 November. The hearing will be held via videoconference from the Planning Court of the Royal Courts of Justice, London.
The Company and its highly experienced planning law barristers, David Elvin QC and Matthew Fraser, remain confident that SCC's planning decision remains entirely lawful and that the claimant's case is unsound. The Weald Action Group's two prior attempts to obtain a JR on similar grounds were refused by two separate judges.
In addition to the Company's counsel, SCC's defence will be joined by counsel for the Secretary of State for Housing Communities and Local Government acting as an interested party with respect to UK planning policy and guidelines.
Further updates will be issued in due course after the court's judgement is handed down.
Stephen Sanderson UKOG's Chief Executive commented:
"We remain confident that the action has no merit and that the court will uphold SCC's decision."
