Digital camera antenna production order secured
Sarantel Group PLC (AIM: SLG, 'Sarantel'), a leading manufacturer of high-performance, miniature filtering antennas for mobile and wireless devices, has received production orders for its GeoHelix LBS Pro GPS antenna for use in a GPS module, specifically designed for the Ricoh 500SE digital camera by EKA Technology.
The SE-2 is the second generation GPS module, designed for the Ricoh 500SE, which uses Sarantel's antenna technology. When attached to the camera, the SE-2 provides an integrated geo-tagging solution which embeds GPS coordinates and direction with captured images and enables the seamless transfer of pictures and geo-data to the supporting mapping software.
David Wither, CEO of Sarantel, commented:
"We are delighted to announce the second design win for the Ricoh 500SE GPS camera module. We worked closely with EKA Technology to embed our GPS antenna and accomplished the design goals of reducing the module size and maintaining robust and accurate GPS performance when the camera is hand held."
Arun Madhav, President EKA Technology Inc., said,
"Following the success of the SE-1 module, Sarantel's GeoHelix LBS Pro was the clear choice for this second generation product which enabled us to develop a more compact solution while maintaining the high performance levels demanded by Ricoh."

About Sarantel
Sarantel is a leader in the design of high-performance miniature antennas for portable wireless applications. Sarantel's revolutionary ceramic filtering antennas offer dramatically improved performance over existing antenna designs, resulting in a clearer signal, better range and a 90 per cent reduction in the amount of signal radiation absorbed by the body.
