The world's first GPS locator specifically designed for children uses Sarantel's antenna technology
Sarantel's GeoHelix P2 antenna has been selected by Lok8u for its Num8 GPS locator. Sarantel (AIM: SLG) develops and manufactures the world's most advanced miniature filtering antennas for handheld and body-worn GPS products. The Sarantel technology enables the most compact and superior performing GPS locating products on the market today and is ideally suited for the small size and supreme accuracy requirements of the Num8 product.
Num8 is to be marketed as the world's first GPS locator device specifically designed to be worn by children. Launched by UK location services company, Lok8u Ltd, this new GPS child locator is cleverly concealed within a child's digital watch. Its proprietary design features ensure that the parent locates their child, not the technology, and an alert is sent to parents if the strap is opened and the watch is removed without permission.
Steve Salmon, chief executive of Lok8u says: "Num8 gives parents the reassurance of knowing where their children are, anytime anywhere. The technological features of the Sarantel GeoHelix P2 antenna have assisted us in meeting the need for small form factor in the Num8 without compromising the GPS performance of our product."
David Wither, CEO of Sarantel says: "We are very pleased to have been chosen by Lok8u for their Num8 product, where the combined benefits of small form factor and excellent performance of Sarantel's GeoHelix P2 antenna have helped to create an excellent product."
