South African Competition Commission approval for the acquisition of Sheltam Holdings (Proprietary) Limited ("Sheltam")

The Company published its admission document on 17 July 2014 in relation to the sale and purchase agreement pursuant to which PME, through one of its wholly-owned subsidiaries, is to acquire the 50 per cent. of the issued share capital of Sheltam not already owned by it, together with certain shareholder loans made by the vendors to Sheltam  (the "Acquisition"). As stated in the admission document the Acquisition was subject to approval from the South African Competition Commission. The Company is pleased to confirm that it has, today, received the necessary approval from the South African Competition Commission with respect to the Acquisition.

As previously announced, the Company will hold an Extraordinary General Meeting at 10:00a.m. on 11 August 2014 for the purpose of seeking the Company's shareholders approval, inter alia, for the Acquisition.
