The HVAC Division is planning to consolidate the production capacities of the Belgian Vasco location Zedelgem by the end of 2019 at the highly-automated production plants in Tubbergen (NL) and Plattling (D). The concentration of competences and volumes along the entire value-added chain from R&D via production up to logistics will allow the division to further sustainably increase its competitiveness in the traditional radiator sector.
The planned production relocation and the resulting closing of the production plant could result in the cut back of 80 jobs at the Zedelgem (BL) location. To implement this measure, meetings will be held with the concerned employee representatives to discuss measures including the preparation of a social plan, as well as effective support options for the concerned employees.
This planned relocation of the production capacity will not affect or change the market handling by the HVAC Division. It will remain present on the market with the established brands Kermi, Arbonia, Sabiana, Prolux, Tecna, Vasco, Superia and Brugman. The customers of Superia in particular will continue to receive the attractive product portfolio at optimal quality and the standard delivery times, which will be ensured by the implementation of a comprehensive logistics project with a centralised logistics hub.
