BayWa AG acquires 60% of the shares in Bohnhorst Agrarhandel GmbH
Munich, 27 September 2012. BayWa AG today signed an agreement for the
acquisition of 60% of the shares in Bohnhorst Agrarhandel GmbH, Steimbke.
The agreed purchase price amounts to approx. EUR36 million. Thereof,
EUR12 million base on a long-time performance-related earn-out agreement.
The transaction shall become effective with effect of 1 January 2013 and is
subject, inter alia to antitrust clearance.The Bohnhorst Group is an
international wholesaler, operating predominantly in the area of grain,
plant protection, animal feed and fertiliser. For BayWa the participation
in Bohnhorst Agrarhandel GmbH means an important step forward in its
international growth strategy for the agro business.
With this acquisition BayWa AG extends its position as European grain
dealer globally.
