BayWa AG to acquire all shares in Cefetra B.V.
Munich, 27 September 2012. Today, BayWa AG, Munich, has entered into an
agreement regarding the acquisition of 100% of the shares in Cefetra B.V.,
a company with registered office in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, with its
current shareholders ForFarmers Group B.V., Agrifirm Group B.V. and
AgruniekRijnvallei B.V. The purchase price is expected to amount to
approximately EUR125 million. The transaction is to be completed at the end
of this year and is inter alia subject to antitrust clearances.
Cefetra B.V. is an international trading company for soft commodities, in
particular soya, grain and palm kernel meal, with subsidiaries in in the
Netherlands, Great Britain, Poland, Hungary and Canada. In 2011, Cefetra
B.V.'s turnover amounted to approximately EUR4.6 billion. The company has
210 employees.
For BayWa AG, the acquisition of Cefetra B.V. represents an important
milestone of its international growth strategy in the Agriculture segment.
Through the acquisition, BayWa AG will expand its position as a European
grain trading company globally.
