AD HOC ANNOUNCEMENT PURSUANT TO SECTION 15 WPHG

                        LPKF wins additional solar orders

Garbsen/Suhl 16 May 2007 - LPKF SolarQuipment GmbH, a subsidiary of  LPKF  Laser
& Electronics AG, has won two more orders for AllegroTM solar structurers.

These laser systems are used to produce thin-film solar  cells  on  large  glass
substrates. The details of the orders remain confidential  as  agreed  with  the
client.

LPKF announced its entry into the solar market in January  2007  with  an  order
for two solar structurers. The subsidiary LPKF  SolarQuipment  GmbH  located  in
Suhl/Germany, was  started  up  at  the  end  of  March  2007.  This  subsidiary
concentrates exclusively on the  distribution,  development  and  production  of
laser structurers for solar cells. SolarQuipment benefits enormously  here  from
the many years of experience and in-depth competence of the LPKF Group in  laser
material processing and hi-tech drive technology.

LPKF Laser & Electronics AG shares are quoted  on  the  Prime  Standard  of  the
Frankfurt Stock Exchange (ISIN DE0006450000).
