New Senior Director IR & Corporate Communications at Tele Columbus

Leonhard Bayer to succeed Elmar Baur

Berlin, 4 April 2017. Today, Tele Columbus AG announced a change of the Senior Director IR & Corporate Communications to become effective on 1 May 2017: Elmar Baur, who joined the Tele Columbus Group for the IPO in June 2014, has decided to leave the company for personal reasons after a successful period of three years. He will be succeeded by Leonhard Bayer, former sell-side equity analyst at Hauck & Aufhäuser.

“I would like to thank Elmar for his tremendous achievements in setting up the company for the successful IPO in January 2015, preparing the acquisitions of primacom and pepcom and settling the capital structure of the company”, stated Ronny Verhelst, CEO of Tele Columbus. “Elmar is a very well respected person in the Capital Markets community – however, we accept his decision to leave Tele Columbus for personal reasons and wish him all the best for his private and professional future. At the same time, we are very happy to have won Leonhard as an immediate successor. He brings with him in-depth industry knowledge and is already fully familiar with Tele Columbus thanks to his coverage of the company since the IPO.”

Leonhard Bayer, who will join the company as new Senior Director IR & Corporate Communications in May 2017, has worked as a sell-side equity analyst at Hauck & Aufhäuser Privatbankiers KGaA in Hamburg from September 2012 on. During that time he led the expansion of the German telco coverage, including Tele Columbus. His activities included the financial analysis and modelling of numerous SDAX and TecDAX-listed companies as well as the compilation of market research reports and organisation of international investor roadshows. Leonhard holds an MA in Intelligence & International Security from the War Studies Department at King’s College London. He will be available from 2 May 2017 under leonhard.bayer@telecolumbus.de.

Via its origins – individual regional cable network operators that were merged into Tele Columbus – the company dates back to 1972. Today, about 3.6 million connected households in Germany are served by Tele Columbus, primacom, pepcom, Deutsche Telekabel, Martens und KMS with TV signals and, increasingly, digital broadcast packages, Internet and voice connections provided via high-performance broadband cable. As a national provider with a regional focus and a partner of the housing industry, the Group is present throughout its core markets Berlin, Brandenburg, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia as well as in numerous key regions in western Germany. In tune with current demand trends, the company is upgrading its networks in a hybrid fibre-optic infrastructure for superfast Internet connections of up to several hundred megabits per second with the state-of-the-art Internet transmission standard DOCSIS 3.0. The broadband cable caters to the entire range of innovative media applications from analogous, digital and high-definition TV to high-speed Internet and voice connections to telemetry services, tenant portals and interactive services. Beyond merely transmitting signals, Tele Columbus uses its own product platform in order to actively increase the programme offering and to develop additional services. Via its company HL komm, Tele Columbus also delivers powerful connections and network services to business customers.
